Back to Our Future:

Rethinking College Level Education in the "New Normal"

How can we reconcile our instructional practices of the past with the educational landscape we find ourselves in today?  How can we use this new knowledge to shape an effective future of teaching and learning for ourselves and our students?

Join us at Humber's stunning Barrett Centre for Technology and Innovation (North Campus) this Spring for three days of presentations, workshops, and panel discussions!  Expand your network of peers from across the Ontario college system during our sessions, meals, and evening activities!

Oh!  And it's CALL's 50th Anniversary!  You can sure bet that there'll be some celebratory surprises along the way!

Who?

The College Association of Language and Literacy (CALL) is a faculty-led association with 50 years of demonstrated leadership in post-secondary education. We are committed to creating opportunities for faculty (full-time and other-than-fulltime) to engage in conversations and professional development focused on pedagogy, technology, equity, SoTL research and so much more. We are also committed to hosting dynamic annual conference(s) focused on innovations in teaching and learning in the Ontario college sector. All of our events are planned with equity and access at the forefront.

This year's conference will feature over 30 presentations from faculty members across the Ontario college system!  Please see the tentative Conference Schedule for session descriptions, and presenter bios!

We are very excited to have two exciting keynote speakers join us this year:

Dr. Mia Zamora (Wednesday), will speak on Intentionally Equitable Hospitality (IEH) and address Universal Design for Learning (UDL) challenges

Dr. Vershawn Young (Friday), will speak about code-meshing, the practice of helping students to integrate their own languages (whether world Englishes, AAVE, or other) into academic and professional spaces.

More information about these two presenters and their exciting keynote addresses will be available soon!

Where?

This year's conference will be held in the beautiful Barrett Centre for Technology Information building at Humber's North Campus.
